Denver Williams @ Central Market | 30 DEC 23

Denver Williams obliterating his guitar and fleecing unsuspecting grocery café-goers with his encompassing original solo arrangements.

PLANO, TX

This was the most enlightening experience I’ve ever had at a grocery store.

Denver Williams invited us to his regular set at Central Market in Plano. He proceeded to invite us on stage to fill his breaks, or kick of his next set. Williams’ three hour set was punctuated with fifteen-ish minute interludes from Josh Garcia (Grandma Mousey), John Garcia, and myself (MOHAYNOW).

While I don’t think I’ll ever conjure a buzz quite like this at a grocery store again, it’s always nice to have a strong, positive memory toward the end of any given year.

Thanks for facilitating this unique experience, Denver, and thank you to all the Central Market patrons and employees for your cursory interest and benevolent ignorance of the weirdos cavorting in the back of the café for several hours.

The waves of sound cascaded miraculously off of the concrete brick reverb chamber. Lyrics somehow sound better when you’re in the proximity of nearly everything you could ever want to stock a kitchen with.
